Every Monday night we have Family Home Evening with the other senior missionaries living in Guatemala City. This group also includes a few American couples who live and work here. Last night we were in the home of a couple who has lived in Latin America for 45 years! They surprised us at the end of the lesson with a visit from a 5-piece mariachi band! It was only the second group we've seen since we've been here. This group has existed for 45 years...kind of like the Beach Boys, with new membes replacing ones who leave. The most senior member of the group was the man with the large guitar; he has performed with the band for 35 years. They were great! We have enjoyed mariachi music since we lived in San Antonio. It made for a fun evening!
