I learned a valuable language lesson from two of our grand kids. Two year-old Kate and her older brother were at a fast-food restaurant play area. Kate, always friendly and social, introduced herself to another child by saying, "I'm two!" Dylan noticing that the boy appeared to be Hispanic asked, "Do you speak Spanish?" When the boy answered in the affirmative, Dylan, who was learning a bit of Spanish in his first grade class, translated, "She's
dos!" The lesson for me...look for ways to use the words you know!
